The Chosen One (June 2009)
The Black Eyed Peas rock out [V] in June as the channel’s Chosen Ones. Combining elements of pop, hip hop and dance, the four-piece band has scored three Grammy Awards and sold over 27 million albums worldwide.
The Peas started out as a trio, made up of will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo. Their first two albums – Behind the Front (1998) and Bridging the Gap (2000) – enjoyed moderate success. In 2003, Stacy Ann 'Fergie' Ferguson joined the group and helped them gain international fame. Their breakout album, Elephunk, earned platinum status in the US and Europe and produced the chart-topping singles 'Where is the Love?', 'Let's Get it Started' and 'Hey Mama'.
Their follow-up album, Monkey Business (2005), raised the bar even higher, debuting at No.2 on the US Billboard chart. Monkey Business gave birth to the singles, ‘Don’t Phunk with my Heart’ and ‘My Humps,’ which not only both won Grammys for Best Rap and Pop performance respectively, but also became dance floor music staples around the world.
In June, the Black Eyed Peas release their fifth studio album, The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies). Group leader will.i.am describes the new album as "electric static funk." The album's first single, 'Boom Boom Pow,' released in February, has already reached the top spot on the Billboard Singles chart.

The Rules Of Choosing "The Chosen 1"
The song of a particular singer/band shall become #1 at the last week of a month so they can be selected as the Chosen 1 for the next month. If Linkin Park manages to retain their position until the last week of July,they'll be selected as the Chosen 1 for the month of August.
